But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44,45
Jesus invites us to reveal the power of His love to the people we encounter. Even with those who have a mean, inappropriate attitude towards us. This is not natural, yet if we invite Him, if we believe in the power of His love and forgiveness He can show us practical ways to reveal the power of His love. Even to people who have been mean to us. Then, instead of demonstrating the power of human selfishness, we can demonstrate the power of Jesus' love. As we believe in and therefore allow the power of His love and forgiveness to train us with His grace, we become more mature or "perfect" in the power of His love, grace and forgiveness, to all His glory.
